[Spice_announce] New JPL Planet Ephemeris: DE414

A new JPL planetary ephemeris, DE414, has recently been released by 
JPL's Solar System Dynamics Group and is now available in SPICE SPK 
format from the NAIF server. It may be accessed via the NAIF web page 
(http://naif.jpl.nasa.gov) using the Data and Generic Kernels links, 
or it may be accessed directly using  ftp protocol:  
ftp://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/generic_kernels/spk/planets/.

DE414 is released as a general planetary ephemeris. A memo describing 
DE414 is also available from the NAIF server:
ftp://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/generic_kernels/spk/planets/de414iom.pdf

The period covered by this ephemeris is approximately:

  START:  1600 JAN 01
  STOP:   2201 FEB 20

A replacement for DE414 is anticipated around the end of CY 2006.
