Regarding the N58 version of the SPICE Toolkit
for the "Mac OSX g77" environment

The Version N58 SPICE Toolkit for the Mac OSX g77 environment,
released on 2005 Jan 14, was inadvertently compiled by g77 3.4
against the libg2c dynamic library instead of the static library.
Consequently, any user trying to run a Toolkit application (e.g.
brief) on an OSX computer without that library being available will
receive an error message indicating a library missing from
/usr/local/lib. While you could find, download and install this
library, it is much easier for you if NAIF rebuilds the Toolkit
linked to the static library.

NAIF has rebuilt the N58 Mac OSX g77 Toolkit accordingly--both the
complete tar package and the individually available executables--and
placed these on the NAIF server as of Feb 16 at 12:06 p.m. PST.
Customers using this environment who previously downloaded the
Version N58 Toolkit and encountered this problem may obtain this
rebuilt Toolkit from the NAIF server at the usual location:
ftp://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/toolkit/FORTRAN/Mac_OSX_g77/.

(If you're using the N58 Toolkit and haven't encountered this
problem, you need not download the revised version.)

NAIF apologizes for any inconvenience.
