[Spice_announce] timestamps on the NAIF FTP server

A Mac OSX/Safari user has reported 
apparently incorrect timestamps for 
files on the NAIF FTP server. This is a 
known problem that can occur when using 
a finder window to display timestamps. 
The timestamps on the server are 
correct, however there is a bug in some 
versions of OS X that cause an incorrect 
interpretation. In March, 2005, a bug 
report was filed with Apple ( Bug ID #: 
4044146). Some time later, Apple 
responded that the problem was not 
reproducible with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. 
Mac users may want to upgrade their OS, 
or use a different browser to access the 
NAIF server.

There have been other reports of 
apparently incorrect timestamps but none 
have been reproducible. If you encounter 
this problem, and it is reproducible, 
please contact one of the NAIF team 
members and provide operating system, 
platform and FTP tool information.
