     This file was created on March 4, 2005 for archiving as part of
     the Stardust SPICE PDS archive.

Orientation constants for Comet Wild 2
--------------------------------------------------------

     The NAIF integer code for Wild 2 is 1000107. See the NAIF_IDs
     required reading for further information on NAIF integer codes.

     The definition and orientation of the Wild 2 body-fixed frame
     provided in [1] are:

        DOCUMENT/MODEL_DESC.TXT:

           A body-fixed coordinate system was established with the
           shortest axis assumed to be the rotation pole, because it is
           the most dynamically stable rotation axis.  The posigrade
           pole was defined to agree with the corresponding poles from
           Farnham and Schleicher (2004) [FARNHAM&SCHLEICH2004] and
           Sekanina (2003) [SEKANINA2003].  The longest axis is used to
           define the prime meridian. All angles are measured relative
           to the Earth Mean Equator and Vernal Equinox of J2000 and
           have an epoch of 2004 Jan 02 19:47 UTC.

        DATA/WILD2_SHAPE.TAB:

           Pole RA                     110.      3.     deg
           Pole DEC                    -13.      3.     deg
           Arg Prime Meridian          155.      3.     deg

     Since rotation rate of the comet is not known, the angles are
     provided in the keywords below 'as is', making comet's orientation
     constant with respect to the the J2000 at all times.

Radii for Comet Wild 2
--------------------------------------------------------

     The Wild 2 shape provided in [1] is:

        DOCUMENT/MODEL_DESC.TXT:

           The axial dimensions determined from the visual fit of the
           model to the limb and terminator were 1.65 x 2.00 x 2.75 km
           +/-0.05 km (1 sigma). ... A body-fixed coordinate system was
           established with the shortest axis assumed to be the
           rotation pole, because it is the most dynamically stable
           rotation axis. ...  The longest axis is used to define the
           prime meridian.

        DATA/WILD2_SHAPE.TAB:

           major semi-axis               2.75    0.05   km
           intermediate semi-axis        2.00    0.05   km
           minor semi-axis               1.65    0.05   km
