I-kernels also contain instrument field-of-view specifications, principal axes specifications and possibly other instrument-specific information useful in the SPICE context. The I-Kernel mounting alignment, along with knowledge of the spacecraft position (SP kernel) and instrument pointing (C kernel), allows the user to use a collection of subroutines that are part of the SPICELIB library, the major component of the SPICE Toolkit. These subroutines can be integrated into user application programs. Information about obtaining the SPICE Toolkit is located in the ``software'' subdirectory of the main directory of this dataset. Refer to the Kernel Required Reading (kernel.req) document provided with the Toolkit or available from the NAIF Node of the PDS, to get more information on how to access I-Kernel data. Hayabusa I-kernels Provided in This Data Set ============================================ This data set contains the following Hayabusa IK files (only the leading portion of the file name is shown; the extension of all file names is ``.ti''): amica31 IK file containing FOV and reference frame definitions for the Hayabusa Asteroid Multi-band Imaging CAmera (AMICA) instrument, created by the Hayabusa Joint Science Team. lidar10 IK file containing FOV and reference frame definitions for the Hayabusa LIght Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) instrument, created by the Hayabusa Joint Science Team. The LIDAR FOV defined in this file is 0.1 by 0.1 degrees. lidar_v1 IK file containing FOV and reference frame definitions for the Hayabusa LIght Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) instrument, created by the Hayabusa Joint Science Team. The LIDAR FOV defined in this file is 0.0566 by 0.0566 degrees. nirs10 IK file containing FOV and reference frame definitions for the Hayabusa Near InfraRed Spectrometer (NIRS) instrument, created by the Hayabusa Joint Science Team. xrs10 IK file containing FOV and reference frame definitions for the Hayabusa X-Ray Spectrometer (XRS) instrument, created by the Hayabusa Joint Science Team. All IK files provided in this data set are in UNIX text format, with a line feed character (ASCII 10) at the end of the line. In most cases these IK files amica31.ti lidar_v1.ti nirs10.ti xrs10.ti should be loaded into a user's application to process data for the surveying and collection phase of the mission. Kernel File Details =================== The most detailed description of the data in an IK file is provided in metadata included inside the descriptive text areas within the file. This information can be viewed using any text editor.
