MPF NAIF ID codes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following numeric ID codes were assigned to Mars Pathfinder and its instruments and structures: ID CODE NAME DESCRIPTION ------- ----------------- ---------------------------------------- -53 MPF Mars Pathfinder Lander (this code also designates the origin of lander frame and local level frame) -53998 MPF LANDING SITE MPF Landing site location (this code also designates the origin of the surface-fixed frame) -53001 MPF IMP MPF Camera (IMP) (this code also designates the intersection of camera azimuth andelevation axes and is the IMP origin of thecamera head frame) -53500 MPF ASI/MET MPF ASI/MET instrument (this code also designates the location of the MET mast hinge) -53700 MPF ROVER MPF Rover or Sojourner (this code also designates the origin of the rover frame) These ID codes were used in various SPICE files included in this data set and, therefore, should be used to access the data via SPICE toolkit routines. MPF Coordinate Frames ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following frames were defined for Mars Pathfinder and assigned with the names and ID codes: ID CODE NAME DESCRIPTION ------- ----------------- ---------------------------------------- -53999 MPF_LOCAL_LEVEL Local level frame at the lander location -53998 MPF_SURFACE_FIXED Surface fixed frame at the landing site -53000 MPF_LANDER Lander fixed Frame -53001 MPF_IMP IMP camera head frame These names and codes were used in various SPICE files included in this data set and, therefore, should be used to access the data via SPICE toolkit routines. These frames are defined in the MPF Frame Definitions Kernel file.
