PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT INTERCHANGE_FORMAT = ASCII PUBLICATION_DATE = 1998-07-11 NOTE = "SCL-Kernel Information" END_OBJECT = TEXT END General information about SPICE SCL-kernels =========================================== In the SPICE system, Spacecraft Clock (or SCL) -kernel contains a set of information required to perform a mapping between Ephemeris time (ET) and spacecraft on-board time (SCLK). The spacecraft clock coefficient information contained in SCLK file can be manipulated by a collection of FORTRAN 77 subroutines to provide a transformation between Ephemeris and spacecraft on-board times. These subroutines are part of the SPICELIB library and can be integrated into user application programs. The SPICE system toolkit for a number of computer platforms is located in the SOFTWARE subdirectory of the main directory of this dataset. Refer to the SCLK.REQ document provided with the toolkit to get more information about conversion between ET and spacecraft clock times. Mars Pathfinder SCL-kernel contained in this dataset ==================================================== This data set includes a single SCLK file contaning real spacecraft clock coefficients (SCLK) for the MPF lander on-board clock. The coeffients in the file were obtained as the result of reprocessing of the MPF SCLK calibration data by David A. Wagner and James F. Schmidling at JPL after the mission. SCL-kernel file naming schema ============================= The SCL-kernel file in this dataset is a SPICE text kernel format file, MPF_SCLK.TSC, that conforms to the UNIX text end-of-line convention. The label for the SCL-kernel file is stored separately in file named MPF_SCLK.LBL.
