Leapseconds usually occur at the New Year or the end of June. The user should check with NAIF/JPL regularly to keep up to date about leapseconds. The information in LSK file can be manipulated by a collection of FORTRAN 77 subroutines to provide required time system transformation. These subroutines are part of the SPICELIB library and can be integrated into user application programs. The SPICE system toolkit for a number of computer platforms is located in the SOFTWARE subdirectory of the main directory of this dataset. Refer to the TIME.REQ document provided with the toolkit to get more information about time conversions supported within the SPICE system. Mars Pathfinder LS-kernel contained in this dataset =================================================== The LSK file provided in this dataset is MPF project copy of generic SPICE LSK file distributed by NAIF/JPL. This leapseconds file reflects the June 30, 1997 leapsecond. LS-kernel file naming schema ============================ The LS-kernel file in this dataset is a SPICE text kernel format file, MPF_LSK.TLS, that conforms to the UNIX text end-of-line convention. The label for the LS-kernel file is stored separately in file named MPF_LSK.LBL.
