The DE418 planetary ephemeris is described in JPL IOM 343R-07-05, released Aug. 2, 2007. The abstract of that memo states, in part, that this ephemeris was "created for use by the New Horizons project in planning for the 2015 Pluto encounter" and that this ephemeris is "suitable for use by the Phoenix and other Mars projects." The memo also states that this ephemeris "is the successor to the previously released ephemeris DE414."
