PHSRM SPK Files =========================================================================== This file was last modified on October 07, 2011 by A. Ledkov Summary -------------------------------------------------------- This "aareadme_en.txt" file describes the contents of the "kernels/spk" directory of the PHSRM SPICE data server. It also provides the file naming conventions used for the PHSRM SPK kernels, instructions for getting additional information about an SPK file, and contact information for PHSRM SPK producers. Directory Contents -------------------------------------------------------- This directory contains the following files and subdirectories: phsrm_111108_111108_111109_nom3.bsp SPK files containing nominal phsrm_111109_111109_120910_nom3.bsp PHSRM spacecraft trajectory data provided by Laspace in October 2011, covering transfer from baseline orbit of Earth to cruise Earth-Mars, cruise from Earth to Mars phsrm_120911_120911_120921_nom2.bsp SPK files containing nominal phsrm_120921_120921_120930_nom2.bsp PHSRM spacecraft trajectory phsrm_120930_120930_121008_nom.2bsp data provided by KIAM in phsrm_121008_121008_130114_nom2.bsp January 2011, covering phsrm_130114_130114_130114_nom2.bsp three-day orbit around Mars phsrm_130114_130114_130214_nom2.bsp before separation, three-day orbit around Mars after separation, transfer to observation orbit around Mars, observation orbit around Mars, transfer to quasi synchronous orbit around Mars and quasi synchronous orbit around Mars de421.bsp SPK file containing JPL DE421 planetary ephemeris data for planet barycenters, and for the sun, earth and moon mass centers, for the entire mission. mar085.bsp SPK file containing JPL MAR085 martian satellite ephemeris data for Phobos and Deimos, for the entire mission. Note that this is the baseline kernel used for planning. phobos_kiam_101231_v00.bsp SPK file contaning Phobos orbit produced by KIAM earthstns_phsrm_itrf93_110118.bsp SPK file for the ground stations Russian Deep Space Network (RDSN) stations. former_versions Subdirectory containing obsolete versions of the SPK files and other files used for creating SPK. aareadme_en.txt This file. aareadme_ru.txt This file in Russian. File Naming Conventions -------------------------------------------------------- The PHSRM spacecraft trajectory SPKs provided in this directory are named as follows phsrm_YYMMDD_YYMMDD_YYMMDD[_NOTE][_vNN].bsp where YYMMDD are the coverage start time, reconstructed part end date, and coverage end date _NOTE is the optional note (e.g. _test1) _vNN is the optional version (e.g _v00, _v01) The JPL planetary ephemeris SPKs provided in this directory are named as follows deNNN.bsp where NNN is the JPL planetary ephemeris version (e.g. 421) The JPL satellite ephemeris SPKs provided in this directory are named as follows marNNN.bsp where NNN is the JPL martian ephemeris version (e.g. 080) The PHOBOS ephemeris SPKs created by organizations other than JPL provided in this directory are named as follows phobos_PROD_YYMMDD[_vNN].bsp where PROD is the producer name or acronym (e.g. kiam) YYMMDD is the release date _vNN is the optional version; usually omitted The PHSRM spacecraft structures SPK provided in this directory are named as follows phsrm_struct_vNN.bsp where NN is the version number (e.g. 00, 01, 02, etc) The ground stations SPKs provided in this directory are named as follows: earthstns_phsrm_itrf93_YYMMDD.bsp where YYMMDD is the release date. Getting Additional Information About an SPK File -------------------------------------------------------- The contents and time span covered by any SPK file may be easily determined using the "brief" utility program available in all copies of the SPICE Toolkit. Example of usage: $ brief Descriptive information about how/why/when an SPK file was created is usually available in the "comment area" of the file. This may be viewed using the "commnt" utility program available in all copies of the SPICE Toolkit. Use the "-r" option to read the comments. Example: $ commnt -r Contact Information -------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions about PHSRM SPK files, contact A. Ledkov / IKI aledkov@iki.rssi.ru A.
