     This ``aareadme.txt'' file describes contents of the kernels/ck
     directory of the PHX SPICE data server. It was last modified on May

Brief summary
--------------------------------------------------------
 
     This directory contains the SPICE C-Kernel (CK) files with PHX cruise
     and landed orientation as well as CK files providing orientation for
     the SSI camera and Robotic Arm Camera. The following files are present
     in this directory. (Only file names are shown; the file name
     extensions of the binary CK files are always ``.bc'')
 
           phx_cruise_sc      CK file providing orientation of the PHX
                              cruise frame w.r.t. the MME-of-Date frame for
                              the whole cruise.
 
           PHX_rmc_file_NNN   CK files providing orientation of the Payload
                              frame w.r.t. to the Local Level frame during
                              surface operations. These files were
                              generated from the corresponding RMC files
                              delivered to ROME by MIPL. The file with the
                              latest version, ``NNN'', supersedes all
                              previous files of this type.
 
           phx_surf_ll2p      A ``default-name'' copy of the latest
                              ``PHX_rmc_file_NNN.bc'' CK. The companion
                              history file ``phx_surf_ll2p.bc.history''
                              indicates when this CK was replaced with
                              individual ``PHX_rmc_file_NNN'' CKs.
 
           phx_surf_frmp      A special CK providing fixed rotation from
                              the Payload frame to the Lander and Cruise
                              frames. It is needed to ``complete'' the
                              frame trees.
 
           phx_surf_ssil      CK file providing orientation of the SSI Left
                              Eye frame. The orientation in the file is
                              based on the CAHVORE model parameters from
                              the SSI image labels. This file covers the
                              whole period of surface operations and is
                              replaced with a newer, more complete version
                              daily.
 
           phx_surf_ssir      CK file providing orientation of the SSI
                              Right Eye frame. The orientation in the file
                              is based on the CAHVORE model parameters from
                              the SSI image labels. This file covers the
                              whole period of surface operations and is
                              replaced with a newer, more complete version
                              daily.
 
           phx_surf_rac       CK file providing orientation of the RA
                              Camera frame. The orientation in the file is
                              based on the CAHVORE model parameters from
                              the RAC image labels. This file covers the
                              whole period of surface operations and is
                              replaced with a newer, more complete version
                              daily.
 
           phx_surf_rag       CK file providing orientation of the RA Edge
                              frame. The orientation in the file is based
                              on the deflected kinematics data from the RAC
                              image labels. This file covers the whole
                              period of surface operations and is replaced
                              with a newer, more complete version daily.
 
           phx_surf_ra        CK file providing orientation of the RA joint
                              frames. The orientation in the file is based
                              on the RA joint angle data from the RAC image
                              labels. This file covers the whole period of
                              surface operations and is replaced with a
                              newer, more complete version daily.
