The SPK file planetb_98.bsp was provided by Mark Ryne on 4/26/99. It is reportedly a run-out (extension) of the planetb_pb90.bsp file described below. According to the "brief" summary shown below: Summary for: planetb_pb98.bsp Body: -178 Start of Interval (ET) End of Interval (ET) ------------------------ ------------------------ 1999 FEB 08 12:01:04.184 2004 JAN 14 08:44:42.184 this file starts a bit later than did planetb_pb90.bsp, and runs much longer. CAUTION: the Nozomi (Planet-B) spacecraft goes through MANY changes of center of integration during this long mission, including Earth (399), Moon (301), Mars barycenter (4) and Sun (10). So one is likely to also need a standard planet ephemeris in SPICE format to use in conjunction with this SPK file. Use the "brief" utility program with the -c option on this file to see a complete summary. (That summary is also attached to the end of this note.) ----------Comments from planetb_pb90.bsp--------------------- This file supposedly includes the two near-earth burns made in December to inject the spacecraft out of earth orbit. The first of these burns--planned for earth periapsis--was well under plan, and the second was quickly executed to achieve an orbit that would eventually get Nozomi to Mars, but now in January, 2004. This file also supposedly contains the planned effect of a clean-up burn to be done in February 1999 to get closer to the planned heliocentric orbit needed to reach MArs in 2004. ----------End comments from planetb_pb90.bsp----------------- Chuck Acton/NAIF 4/26/99 ---------------Begin Attachment---------------------------- %brief -c planetb_pb98.bsp Summary for: planetb_pb98.bsp Body: -178 w.r.t.
