******************************************************************************** INSIGHT Reconstructed Cruise Orientation CK File, TLM- and SFF-Based ============================================================================ Orientation Data in the File -------------------------------------------------------- This file contains actual orientation of the INSIGHT cruise frame, 'INSIGHT_LANDER_CRUISE' (NAIF Frame ID -189000), relative to the INSIGHT Mars Mean Equator (MME) of J2000 inertial frame, 'INSIGHT_MME_2000' (NAIF Frame ID -189910). Status -------------------------------------------------------- This file is a reconstructed C-Kernel file created by NAIF for the SPICE PDS archive. Pedigree -------------------------------------------------------- This CK file was generated from a combination of the complete set of spacecraft orientation quaternions and angular velocities (AVs) down-linked in housekeeping telemetry (quaternion element channels A-1202...A-1205, angular velocity element channels A-1208...A-1210, and attitude validity SCLK time channel A-1206), and spacecraft orientation quaternions down-linked in the Small Forces packets with corresponding AVs computed from them. The two attitude data streams were combined into a set uniq'ed by SCLK and written to this CK file using the MSOPCK program. Approximate Time Coverage -------------------------------------------------------- This file is a type 3 CK file which provides continuous coverage by linearly interpolating between all orientation data points stored in the file. Even though the time spacing between points during intervals when only Small Forces based attitude is available can be quite large (many minutes), linear interpolation between these points occuring at the edges of the deadband envelope has shown to produce fairly accurate results. A table containing the complete list of valid interpolation intervals in each segment of the the file is provided at the end of these comments. The start time and stop time of the total coverage for every segment in the file are given in the header of the intervals table for that segment. Usage Note -------------------------------------------------------- In order to use this file an INSIGHT SCLK file, containing coefficients mapping INSIGHT on-board time to ET, standard LSK file, providing UTC to ET mapping, and INSIGHT Frames kernel, providing definition of the INSIGHT cruise and MME frames must be loaded into a user program.
