Brief summary -------------------------------------------------------- This directory contains the SPICE SP-Kernel files for the GLL spacecraft. The following files are present in this directory: gll_951120_021126_raj2021.bsp SPK file containing reconstructed GLL trajectory determined by Robert Jacobson, JPL SSD in 2021 gll_951120_021126_raj2007.bsp SPK file containing reconstructed GLL trajectory determined by Robert Jacobson, JPL SSD in 2007 s960730a.bsp SPK files containing GLL s970311a.bsp trajectory solution by GLL NAV s980326a.bsp team. See Appending below for s000131a.bsp more information about these s030916a.bsp files. Appendix: Original AAAREADME File Covering GLL NAV SPK Files ========================================================================== 2003 NOV 21 (NJB) This directory contains the latest SPK files produced by the Galileo Navigation Team, providing reconstructed data for the Galileo orbiter and probe for each mission phase. The phases, coverage intervals, and SPK file names are listed below. Galileo Orbiter: Phase Coverage SPK file ================================ ========================== ============ Interplanetary cruise 1989-OCT-19 to 1995-JUL-02 s970311a.bsp Primary tour 1995-JUL-01 to 1998-JAN-01 s980326a.bsp GEM (Galileo Europa Mission) 1997-DEC-01 to 2000-FEB-01 s000131a.bsp GMM (Galileo Millenium Mission) 2000-FEB-01 to 2003-SEP-22 s030916a.bsp Galileo Probe: Phase Coverage SPK file ================================ ========================== ============ Probe separation through descent 1995-JUL-13 to 1995-DEC-07 s960730a.bsp Each file contains extensive documentation stored in the file's "comment area." The comment area of an SPK file may be read using the SPICE Toolkit utility COMMNT. The command-line syntax for running commnt is commnt -r Example: commnt -r s030916a.bsp All files in this directory having names of the form *.bsp are Sun (IEEE "big-endian") binary files. They should be transferred in binary ftp mode. Downloading the files via web browser is risky and is not recommended. The binary files listed here are readable without translation (to transfer format and back to host native binary format) on Sun, HP, SGI, PC, and Macintosh systems by SPICE Toolkits having version ID N0052 or later.
