DAWN Vesta PCK files

     This file describes Vesta PCK files available in this directory
     and in the DAWN SPICE archive. It was last modified on October 16,

DAWN Vesta PCK files Used in Archiving DAWN Vesta Science Data
--------------------------------------------------------
 
     The following PCKs not provided in this directory were used only
     in archiving DAWN Vesta science data but not in DAWN flight
     operations:

       dawn_vesta_v06.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the ``Claudia
                            Double-Prime'' coordinate system used in
                            science products included in the DAWN Vesta
                            mission PDS archives. This PCK was never 
                            used in project operations.

       dawn_vesta_v05.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the ``Claudia
                            Prime'' coordinate system used in science
                            products included in the DAWN Vesta mission
                            PDS archives submitted for peer-review in
                            August 2012 but never officially archived.
                            This PCK was never used in project
                            operations and is superseded by
                            ``dawn_vesta_v06.tpc''.

DAWN Vesta PCK files Used Operations
--------------------------------------------------------

     The following PCKs provided in this directory were used in DAWN
     flight operations but not in archiving DAWN Vesta science data:

       dawn_vesta_v04.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the
                            ``DAWN-Claudia'' coordinate system used by
                            the project during operations at Vesta
                            through the end of the Vesta mission.

       dawn_vesta_v03.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the
                            ``DAWN-Claudia'' coordinate system with
                            incorrect W0 term used by the project for a
                            short period of time from October 10, 2011
                            to November 3, 2011. This PCK is
                            superseded by ``dawn_vesta_v04.tpc''.

       dawn_vesta_v02.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the
                            ``IAU-2009'' coordinate system used by
                            the project during operations at Vesta,
                            up to October 10, 2011. This PCK is
                            superseded by ``dawn_vesta_v04.tpc''.

       dawn_vesta_v01.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the
                            ``IAU-2000'' coordinate system used by the
                            project during operations prior to arrival
                            to Vesta, up to February 25, 2011. This PCK
                            is superseded by ``dawn_vesta_v04.tpc''.

       dawn_vesta_v00.tpc   DAWN project PCK file containing
                            orientation and size information for the
                            asteroid Vesta. Vesta rotation constants
                            provided in this PCK are for the
                            ``IAU-2000'' coordinate system used by
                            the project during operations prior to 
                            arrival to Vesta, up to February 25, 2011.
                            This PCK is superseded by
                            ``dawn_vesta_v04.tpc''.

       pck00008.tpc         generic PCK file containing information for
                            the Sun, all Solar planets and satellites,
                            and selected comets and asteroids, based on
                            the constants from the IAU 2000 report.
                            Vesta rotation constants provided in this
                            PCK are for the ``IAU-2000'' coordinate
                            system used by the project during
                            operations prior to arrival to Vesta, up to
                            February 25, 2011. This PCK is superseded
                            by ``dawn_vesta_v04.tpc''.
