<div>Thanks for all the help on my Linux/e-kernel issue. It was indeed an endian problem. The bingo utility provided by Nathaniel Bachman seems to do the trick of converting from IEEE to PC byte ordering--I am able to load and query the resulting ek files.

<div>Also, on the NAIF website the kernels are offered already in the transfer format form, & so the "tobin" utility makes a usable file as suggested here--but no Solaris system needed.</div>

<div>As a test, running tobin on S14_cmd_pg_full.xes and running bingo on the native S14_cmd_pg_full.bes yielded identical files usable on a pc.</div><span class="sg">
