<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">NASA’s Navigation and Ancillary Information Facility (NAIF) is pleased to announce a beginners’ SPICE training class to be held in the vicinity of Pasadena, California, on November 7 - 9, 2017. <a href="https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/naif/aboutspice.html">Information
about SPICE</a> is available here.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The <a href="https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/naif/WS2017_prelim_announcement">
announcement and registration form</a> are found here, or may be accessed from the “Announcements” page at the
<a href="https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/">NAIF website</a>. One must fill out and return the registration form to gain entry to the class, and to receive further announcements about the class.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The class is designed for scientists, engineers and upper-level students involved in space science missions. It will consist of lectures and student-executed programming exercises. It will be a rather intense
three-day event.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The class is open to all, including foreign nationals and persons representing commercial enterprises, on a first-come, first-served basis. NAIF reserves the right to limit attendance if needed to keep the
class to a manageable size, or to ensure good representation from NASA and its partners.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The class is free, but attendees must pay for their own transportation, lodging and per diem expenses. NAIF, JPL and NASA reserve the right to cancel the class in the absence of sufficient registrations, or
due to unforeseen circumstances. (In twenty years of offering this class, never has a cancelation been necessary.)<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Note that a <a href="https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/naif/self_training.html">
self-training option</a> is available for those unable to attend the class.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
