<div><br>
</div>
<div>The NAIF Team at JPL is pleased to announce the availability of the version N65 generic SPICE Toolkit packages.&nbsp;</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Toolkit packages are available in the four supported languages: Fortran 77, C, IDL and MATLAB. Packages are available for several popular platforms, operating systems, and where applicable, for a number of popular compilers, comprising a total of 47 different
 computing environments.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>As always these Toolkits are highly tested and fully backwards compatible: you may link any of your existing, working, SPICE-based programs to the N65 Toolkit libraries without fear they will crash or give incorrect results. Similarly, any SPICE kernels
 you have been working with using the N64 (or earlier) Toolkit will work identically with N65 Toolkit. We strongly encourage you to upgrade your applications to use this N65 Toolkit.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>This is the largest release of new and improved capabilities in NAIF's history. For some users, especially those whose code makes substantial use of the often-not-seen reference frame transformation capability, there could be a noticeable performance improvement
 (speed up). The &quot;whats.new&quot; file included in every Toolkit and also available under here, in language-specific versions:</div>

<div>provides a summary of the new and improved capabilities, the new and dropped programming environments, and bug fixes.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>This N65 Toolkit release does not include complete and fully tested Java Native Interface (JNI) packages nor the emerging Digital Shape Kernel (DSK) capabilities. &nbsp;However, alpha-test versions of JNI Toolkits and of Toolkits including the tessellated plate
 model component of the DSK subsystem have been built on top of the new N65 Toolkit and are available from the NAIF server; send a request to a NAIF member. These alpha-test toolkits are subject to some further changes, and although substantially tested, should
 be used with due caution.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>All the new N65 Toolkits may be obtained from the NAIF website, starting from this location.</div>

<div><br>
</div>
<div>Be very careful to pick the version suitable for your specific computing environment, taking note that in some cases there are different Toolkits for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of an operating system.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>We hope you will find these new Toolkits to your liking. We encourage you to share this announcement with your colleagues.</div>
